My Internship

At Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center (KBREC), I worked under Registered Dietitian Patty Case in nutrition education. I developed and taught nutrition based lesson plans for kids ages 3-15 and taught in a variety of settings. This aspect of my internship allowed me to work with a diverse group of children from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Working at KBREC provided me with the opportunity to work on the Blue Zones Project in Klamath Falls, Oregon. I specifically dealt with grocery stores and through them I held a food demonstration as well as a grocery store tour. During the grocery store tour I had the chance to lead individuals of the WIC population in Klamath Falls.
